What is Californian Massage?
Californian massage utlizes long movements that encompass the whole body as they were a kind of caress or a wave-like motion. It originated in Big Sur, Californina at the Esalen Institute in the 1960s. It combines a mixture of massage techniques including Ayurvedic, Thai and Hawaiian massage. The focus of this massage is to understand the body as a whole. It is a truely holistic treatment.
